Some tips for cooking that you can learn only from a restaurant

Whenever you visit a restaurant, you are simply awed by the way, chefs present dishes to you. Every taste is spot on and you get to taste some delicious foods in a restaurant. When you cook at home, you might try to follow some restaurant style presentation and cooking of dishes so that it can taste better.

Cooking is an art and there are many things to learn with every passing day. These are some of the techniques, which you can apply at your own homes so that your cooking even tastes better than the last time:

  1. Tasting of food
    One of the most important things that you should follow is that you should always taste your food as you cook it. Sometimes you cannot really blame the recipe for not being good. The problem is that you do not taste your cooking and so, you do not get the idea whether all the ingredients have been mixed properly or not.   2. Roasting of meat first and then sear them
    When you cook protein, you must keep it in mind that first, the meat needs to be properly roasted at a low oven with temperatures ranging between 10 to 15 degree Fahrenheit. It is better to check the temperature using a meat thermometer. Then taking a skillet, sear the meat or you can even grill it but this process should not be more than 5 minutes. This is the best way to get a good taste of meat.
  3. Avoid cooking meat and fish cold
    It is advised to not cook meat and fish in cold and they should be left to come to the room temperature before being cooked. It less time to cook in this case and the meat or fish becomes softer than usual. It helps to carry the protein to the meat the time you are searing it. Do not cook meat or fish right after taking it out from the refrigerator.
  4. Drying of ingredients before grilling them
    The one thing that you can learn from restaurants is that you should dry meat or fish before cooking them. People love the grill marks they get on the meat or fish the time when they are searing it. When the meat or fish is patted dry, the grill marks on the meat comes properly and it helps to sear better. This is best when you are making barbecue.
  5. Only salt and pepper are not the only way to season
    The other thing that a kitchen can teach is that only pepper and salt are not the only options that you can use as seasoning. Pickled vegetables, vinegar, citrus, fruits, etc. are also other methods of seasoning a dish. Herbs are a great way to add flavor and richness to the dish and the thickness increases with every kind of herbs that you use on the dish.
  6. The basics of the dish should be kept handy
    When you plan on preparing a new dish, you must always keep your pantry or fridge stocked with the essential things that might be needed in the preparation of the dish. Lemons, bacon, fruits, vegetables, flour, eggs, etc. should always be kept in a stock. Magical things can happen if you keep your pantry loaded. There might be dishes that you can prepare on a sudden notice if you keep your pantry loaded.
  7. Know the right way to prepare beans
    It has been an age-old tradition to soak beans overnight before you cook them. However, this practice needs to be stopped. The beans should be left to boil the time you are cooking and then they should be left to simmer slightly for about 4-5 minutes to get a beautiful aroma. In this way, you are sure to get creamy beans the next time when you plan on preparing them.
