How to prepare McDonald’s french fries at home

McDonald’s French fries is today one of the most popular food snacks that people are always in demend for. Materials and Ingredients required include:

  • Slicer (this will enable you to cut the fries into consistent sizes of about ¼ inch thickness)
  • 2 large containers or baking dishes Availability of a deep fat fryer
  • 3 large fresh russet potatoes
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 6 cups of peanut oil
  • About 1 and half cups of water
  • About 1 tablespoon measure of corn syrup

Directions For Preparation

First stage: you begin by peeling and cutting the potatoes into small thin slices. You can get this aspect done either through the traditional method or by a faster method of using the V-slicer.

Second stage: pour cold water into one of the containers or baking dishes and completely submerge the sliced potatoes and allow it to soak for a minimum of five minutes (this will help to get rid of unwanted excess starch).

Third stage: remove the potatoes from the cold water and put them into the second container/dish while the water is drained away.

Fourth stage: pour hot water into the empty container/dish and sprinkle about 1/3 cup of sugar along with one tablespoon of corn syrup and stir it very well.

Fifth stage: remove the sliced potatoes and put them into the container containing hot water and allow it to soak for about ten minutes or more.

Sixth stage: drain out the water and put the sliced potatoes into a container/dish and put it into a fridge and allow it to cool for about twenty minutes. Then cook the sliced potatoes in the fryer for three minutes, after that, you remove it and allow it to cool for up to ten minutes. Final stage; when the sliced potatoes has cooled off, you put them back into the fryer for about five minutes and allow to fry for about five minutes and observe when its well fried. Clean off excess oil and sparingly sprinkle salt on it.
