This generation is so named because the demographic cohort was born near the dawn of a new millennium.
The Millennial generation follows Generation X in order of demographic cohorts, also known as Generation Y. The Millennial Generation is the first born into the digital world, specifically the social media and Internet. Technology is incorporated into their day-to-day lives.

Traits of the Millennials
- Workplace
They are less likely to put up with an unpleasant work environment and are most likely to use social media to broadcast their concerns. Being the target group for most advertising, they are more skeptical about the promotional material of any kind. Whether goods, services or employment, they are more likely to listen to their friends than to be affected by marketing, this makes conventional marketing and employee recruitment practices often ineffective for Millennials. - Technology and Social Media
They grew up with computers and the internet. Thus, they tend to adjust more readily to new devices, new programs, operating systems and devices that perform tasks more quickly than the previous generation. They are comfortable with the idea of a public internet life. Privacy, in the Millennial eye, is simply limiting who sees their online shares. - Culture
Millennials are the most ethnically diverse generation and have ahigh tolerance for difference. Not only do they just reject the music, art and clothes of their parents, they also reject the previous generation’s major sources of economic and spiritual well-being. They don’t aspire to have steady jobs.
Surveys have shown that they have less faith in the institutions, both political and religious institutions. Conversely, they have shown high support of political independents and protestor-formed governments. Although they have less faith in religious institutions, there are some who have risen and have absolute faith in the existence of God. Many churches’ messages clash with their ideal of tolerance for religious, racial, gender, sexual orientation differences among themselves. - Passion
Millennials don’t just sit and wait for passion. They chase it! For better or for worse. They find happiness in chasing passion and meaning of their lives. They are not afraid of getting past the extremes. Such include pursuing to have lives similar to their idols. We have seen some even change their bodies in order to look a certain way. Sex change is also new with the millennials, as we hear more and more cases of gender change among millennials.
In the end, they are a generation setting the pace in the internet era.
