Plot

When a beautiful young woman finds love in a weird looking Beast

The plot was set in medieval France a beautiful and charming young woman named Belle (depicted by Emma Watson) was taking captive by a hidious beast. The Beast was originally a prince whose mien nature had got into trouble when he maltreated a certain sorcerer when she seeked for his help, in vengeance, the sorcerer placed a curse on the prince (Dan Stevens) and he was transformed into a beast. The only antidote that could reverse the spell was for him to mutually fall in love.

Later, circumstance will bring the Belle in close contact with the beastly prince. Maurice, Belle’s father was accused of stealing and the Beast got him locked up in prison. Already, Belle has been getting advances from Gaston, a cocky and selfish ex soldier who wanted to marry her but Belle was not in the least interested in him.

At a point when Belle was trying to escape the wrath of the beast, she ran and hid in the woods, unfortunately for her, she came under attack by wolves that wanted to devour her but the beast was on time to save her, he ended up with injuries he got while he fought the wolves. The responsibility of nursing the beasts wounds fell on her. While she was treating him, the beast developed an interest in her while Belle on her own discovered that the beast was not wicked afterall and her impression of him changed to affection.

Towards the end, Gatson instigated a rebelion against the beast and later fought him. During the fight, while Gatson had the upper hand initially, the reemergence of Belle lifted the beasts spirit and he was able to subdue Gatson but out of pity, he refused to kill him. A costly mistake he made because Gatson then took him unawares and killed him.

In a twist of fate, the sorcerer reappeared when a distraught Belle was grieving the death of the beast to bring the beast back to life and equally reverse the spell.

Conclusion

The Beauty and the Beast may be a farfetched fairytale story originally meant for kids, however, the way it was brought to life in the movie, and the accompanying musical is something many people will enjoy to watch regardless of age.
