There is no doubt that movie stands are awash with movies that parade themselves as comedy, but when we make out time from our busy schedule to watch them, we end up feeling cheated because we weren’t in the least amused talk more of having to cackle with laughter.

Just like everyone else, I have had such moments of sober reflection after watching a so-called comedy movie that left me wondering whether I have lost all sensitivity to humor. During such moments of reflection, there is a yardstick I have improvised to guage if the problem has its roots in my “uptightness” or just a “dryness” of the comedy film. I will simply glance around: are other people in the audience laughing out loud? More often not, I would be greeted by equally sad faces who were probably still wondering how they bought such a dummy in the first place.

Don’t watch Girls Trip or else you may end up with a cracked rib!
