The sitcom you have to see: Friends!

“I’ll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour; I’ll be there for you, like I’ve been there before; I’ll be there for you, ‘cause you’re there for me too”.

This is the famous refrain that opens one of the most important sitcom of the 20th century: Friends!

A milestone in the world of TV series, created by Marta Kauffman and David Crane in 1994, and finished in 2004, exactly ten years later.

The concept behind Firends is simple and winning: a comic tale of the life and adventures of a group of six friends extremely different one from each other, who live in New York in the nineties.
The friendship among them is the backbone of the entire series, providing the backdrop to events that, episode after episode, bring the viewer to the brink of tears, from laughing to not. Each character is distinguished by its own peculiarity, and the choice of the cast is extremely appropriate.

Monica Geller (played by Courtney Cox) is a chef who lives in a small but charming apartment, located in New York.
For her, it’s all about control, but she’s also generous with her friends and in search of the true love.

Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) is a rich and spoiled girl who leaves her boyfriend on the altar and takes refuge at Monica’s home, her old friend from high school, thus becoming part of the lives of the five. She will choose to become independent and roll up his sleeves.

Monica's brother Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) is a paleontologist, as well as the brain of the group and the most calm and serious person. Despite this, he will be the victim of a thousand misadventures, and will end up collecting a series of divorces between hilarious gags and twists.

Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) is the most popular among viewers, so much that he deserves an entirely dedicated spin-off after the end of the series.
He's the playboy of the group; a nice boy of Italian origin with a passion for acting.
He collects flirtation and leaves everyone (in a good sense) boggeddown with his naive "stupidity".
Her sentence for seduce a woman has become very famous: "How do you doin?"

Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow) is eccentric and unconventional.
She is a masseuse and lives in her own world, where she plays guitar and invents songs. His most famous title: Smelly Cat!

Last but not least: Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), the personification of sarcasm and cynicism.
From the ready joke, and the lack of success with women due to his fear of commitment, he will end up evolving completely.

In Friends there is also space for intrigue and love stories, which will accompany the viewer for almost the entire duration of the show, while maintaining the comic sailing characteristic of the sitcom.

The secondary characters become important and support the comparison with the main cast: we remember Janice (and her unmistakable "Oh. My. God!" and the tender bartender Gunther, who has always been in love with Rachel.

All ten seasons of Friends have been acclaimed by public and critics, followed by very high listening all over the world.
Screenwriters and actors have always lived up to the expectations by hitting the mark.
Memorable jokes, great lessons of friendship and paradoxical situations have contributed to make this series a real cult.

Twenty years later, we’re still talking about it!

Even the most recent "How I Met YourMother" has been "accused" of having largely taken its cue from Kauffman&Crane's product.

The advice is to look at it in its original language so as not to miss even one of the jokes that will accompany you on this journey made of laughter and even some tears, because believe me, you will not fail to get fond of these six guys!
